The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) has partnered with Lockton Companies, Inc. and XL Insurance to offer group product contamination and recall insurance to AFFI member companies. This value added service is being made available at a special rate and is initially available only to AFFI members.
Whether real or perceived, the frequency of food recalls seems to be on the rise along with efforts to hold food processors and manufacturers responsible for food borne illness incidents. In addition, the food safety debate currently under way in Congress is likely to result in mandatory food recall authority for the federal government. These developments are likely to increase your company’s exposure to risk.
Your membership in AFFI is greatly appreciated, and we have developed this new offering just for our member companies.
A crisis incident can happen anytime, be prepared with AFFI's Crisis Communications Preparedness Program.
When a crisis occurs, the way a company responds and communicates both internally and externally can be the difference between the event being a door-closing disaster or an opportunity to reveal the company’s true mettle.
In partnership with Sound Counsel Crisis Communications LLC, AFFI has established a program to help member companies identify the areas where they areat riskand develop a customized crisis communications plan. This program, which includes special rates for Sound Counsel’s services, is a benefit offered exclusively to AFFI member companies.
Revised by the Frozen Food Roundtable, the 2009 edition of the Frozen Food Handling and Merchandising is published by AFFI as a means of promoting food safety and quality. The document contains the frozen food industry’s recommended practices for the care, handling and storage of pre-packaged frozen foods throughout distribution.
